In addition to processing your equipment, TCI takes responsibility for completing all required state and federal documentation, ensuring that you are in full compliance throughout these processes. In short, TCI of Ohio’s experience and expertise gives you the peace of mind that comes from knowing the job will be done safely and correctly from the start to finish.
Sampling
Our highly trained and skilled technicians conduct on-site sampling of your oil-filled units or wipe sampling from units that already have been drained. The technician creates a log for all of the units with serial numbers, gallons of oil, KVAs and all other pertinent information. Each unit is given a unique tracking number that corresponds to the sample taken. Once the oil is analyzed at one of our approved, licensed laboratories, we provide a copy of the results along with a certified copy of the log.
Documentation
After completing the oil analysis, TCI prepares all documentation and labeling required by state and federal authorities for transporting your equipment, including bills of lading, manifests, etc.
Transportation
TCI of Ohio is a registered hazardous waste hauler. We maintain a fleet of modern transportation equipment, including single drop trailers, flatbed trailers, lowboy trailers, van trailers and oil tankers. All trailers are equipped with secondary containment, and each vehicle is fully outfitted with emergency response equipment. All TCI drivers complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training and an eight-hour annual renewal.
Equipment with PCB levels of less than 50 ppm is transported to and processed at our facility in Richwood, OH. Equipment with PCB levels greater than 50 ppm is transported initially to Richwood and then re-routed to our sister company, TCl of Alabama, for processing.
Processing
Upon arrival at TCI’s campus, your equipment is offloaded inside our state-of-the-art security fence enclosed facility.
Equipment with PCB levels of less than 50 ppm is drained, and the oil is bulked and sent to our sister company, Hydrodec of North America, LLC, for recycling or, per the generator’s specifications, sent to other processing facilities.
Equipment with PCB levels greater than 50 ppm is transported intact to our sister company, TCl of Alabama, for handling and treatment. Equipment with previous PCB levels of 500 ppm and higher is processed through a state-of-the-art vapor degreasing unit.
Drained equipment with previous PCB levels of 50-499 ppm is transported to our sister company TCI of Alabama, where it is processed through a scrap metal recovery oven.
